For 2025, the City of Marcq-en-Barœul has partnered with Roubaix-based artist Justine Coquidé for a unique artistic collaboration. Together, they have created a series of 12 visuals, designed to illustrate each month of the year. These poetic creations, imbued with dreams and escapism, will grace the City's official calendar as well as the Mayor's New Year's cards. An invitation to contemplation and imagination, celebrating a deep connection to local culture.

"For this collaboration with the City of Marcq-en-Barœul, I wanted to explore our childhood memories through 12 emblematic places in the city. Each visual, designed for the 2025 calendar and the greeting cards of the Mayor and his elected officials, is an invitation to rediscover Marcq differently, with the eyes of a child.

I used official archive photos of the city, which I reworked using collage. The proportions are deliberately distorted: exaggerated, stretched, miniaturized… like in our childhood memories, where everything always seems bigger or smaller than it actually is. It's a journey between past and present, between reality and imagination.

I wanted to recapture that simple, almost magical feeling of rediscovering a familiar place with wonder. Because deep down, we all remain children at heart. Between culture, nostalgia, and humor, I invite you to see Marcq-en-Barœul as you've never seen it before.
