What a story! 🎨




 The birth of Venus from the sea foam is an ancient Greek legend that evokes beauty and divine love. According to this tale, Venus was born when the genitals of her father, Uranus, were severed by the Titan Cronus and thrown into the sea. From the resulting foam emerged Venus, majestic and beautiful, carried to the shore on a mussel shell.


 This story has captivated the imagination of artists throughout the centuries, particularly in the field of painting. Masterpieces such as Sandro Botticelli's "The Birth of Venus" illustrate this mythical scene, depicting the goddess standing on a seashell, surrounded by sea deities and angels.




 In these depictions, pearls are often used to accentuate Venus's femininity and beauty, symbolizing purity and perfection. Cupid, the god of love, is also frequently present in these works, reinforcing the link between the birth of Venus and divine love.




 Today JUSTINE COQUIDÉ reinterprets the birth of Venus from a plaster bust of the goddess and the landscape from the work of AMAURY DUVAL.
