What a story! 🎨
Victory
She is most often depicted as a winged goddess, wearing a long Roman robe and holding a laurel wreath, an emblem of victory which she is believed to offer to the victor. She may also hold a palm frond, the symbol of victory in sporting competitions and circus games. She is also shown raising trophies or engraving the exploits of warriors on a shield.
The Romans made statues of them to decorate their monuments and commemorate their victories. This style of depicting Victory was adopted by sculptors and painters from the 16th century onwards.
