What a story! 🎨




 Created by Justine Coquidé, this poster blends drawing and collage to reinterpret Antonio Canova's bas-relief, Justice, with a contemporary aesthetic. Through the astrological sign of Libra, the figure embodies harmony, balance, and the pursuit of justice. Created between 1817 and 1819, Canova's bas-relief presents an allegory of justice, symbolized by a woman holding scales, the central attribute of equity. Her upright posture and composure embody the nobility and impartiality of justice. Canova's Justice reflects the neoclassical ideal of a universal and timeless virtue. In this contemporary reinterpretation, Justine Coquidé gives this figure a more assertive dimension, transforming Justice into an active, independent, and dynamic force, perfectly aligned with the values of Libra: the search for balance, harmony, and truth. This poster thus connects eras, merging classical heritage with a modern vision.




 Libra is linked to Themis , goddess of divine justice, often depicted holding a scale. She embodies fairness and universal order. This symbolism is reflected in the constellation Libra, associated with the concepts of balance, diplomacy, and unity. In astrology, Libra represents beauty, peace, and balanced relationships, beautifully illustrated in this card.
