What a story! 🎨




 Creation and assembly of four ballpoint pen drawings inspired by the New York Thanksgiving Day Parade. Established in 1924, the parade, inseparable from Thanksgiving, unofficially kicks off the holiday season. Each year, the parade draws over 3.5 million people to cheer on the floats, giant balloons, marching bands, cheerleaders, and welcome Santa Claus at the entrance to the store on Herald Square. Until 1927, animals from the Central Park Zoo participated in the parade; they were then replaced by giant balloons released at the end. Felix the Cat was honored with the first parade, followed by Mickey Mouse (1934), Snoopy the Aviator (1968), Garfield (1984), Babar (1991), and Buzz Lightyear (2008). Toile de Jouy is known for the variety of its printed patterns depicting characters with settings or landscapes. Here, Justine revisits the pattern in a more contemporary way.
