What a story! 🎨
The sculpture Venus and Adonis was created by Antonio Canova between 1789 and 1794.
He manages a half-smile, but doesn't she look worried? It's Venus, the goddess of love, holding back her lover Adonis, who is about to go hunting. Venus tries everything to dissuade him, to save him from danger. But, as prophesied, a boar bites and kills him. The moment chosen by the artist is that of the final farewell, the instant before the cruel fate is fulfilled. Today, the two lovers relive a contemporary romance, under the watchful eye of the hummingbird, symbol of luck, love, and joy.

RETURNS
